Documentary Filmmaker and TechMission Founder Dr. Ali Mohamad Honoured with Prestigious ‘Photography Content Creator’ Award
The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) has announced Syrian photographer Dr. Ali Mohamad as the recipient of its prestigious Photography Content Creator Award for its 15th season, ‘Family’. The global honour recognises his prominent role in reshaping the relationship between advanced technology and the visual arts within the Arabic-speaking world, as well as his commitment to simplifying complex technological concepts for creators.
Dr. Ali Mohamad founded the TechMission Academy in Dubai to provide free digital lessons and workshops aimed at integrating modern technologies into photography. The initiative successfully bridges the knowledge gap within creative communities regarding how to manage data ‘noise’ while maintaining a focus on visual quality. Dr. Mohamad also serves as the founder and CEO of HOC, a firm that combines creative direction, strategic leadership and an entrepreneurial vision. Under his guidance, the company develops narrative-driven written and visual content for brands, government entities and various heritage-related projects and initiatives.
“We, at HIPA, identify projects and initiatives that combine a high level of quality with a sustainable impact on the audience,” said His Excellency Ali Bin Thalith, Secretary General of HIPA. “Dr. Ali Mohamad is deeply passionate about creative empowerment and disseminating education through innovative and effective methods that make a significant difference for those who receive it."
Bin Thalith added: “Honouring these trailblazing creative individuals lies at the very heart of the HIPA’s mission. We are deeply inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, whose patronage continuously fosters global cultural and intellectual creativity.”
Reflecting on the international recognition, Dr. Ali Mohamad said, “This may be one of the very few moments in my life when I find myself at a loss for words. I received the news of this win with immense pride and honour—a prize that anyone working in the field of photography, anywhere in the world, dreams of receiving. Winning an award of this calibre goes beyond merely recognising a job well done; it serves as a guiding principle and an ethical and professional responsibility—one that I shall strive to uphold to the best of my ability for as long as I live. It is also a personal responsibility that shapes the conduct of the recipient, serving as a benchmark against which future decisions, activities and visions are measured.”
