In collaboration with the Al Salam Cycling Championship, HIPA is pleased to announce the 10th edition of the Al Salam Championship Cycling Photo Contest, celebrating the dynamic fusion of athletic excellence and artistic expression.

We invite professional and aspiring photographers to capture the energy, resilience, and competitive spirit of the HH The Ruler’s of Dubai Court Race – Elite Men, showcasing the strength and determination of the cyclists as they race past Dubai’s most iconic landmarks.

Participants are encouraged to submit their photo(s) that truly capture the essence of this extraordinary race.

Elite Men's Race

Photographers must choose one scenic spot along the race route, which will pass through the following areas:

  • Al Fahidi Street
  • Al Ghubaiba Street
  • Grand Souk - Bur Dubai
  • Al Khaleej Street
  • Dubai Dry Docks
  • Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2)
  • Dubai Museum
  • Etihad Museum
  • Jumeirah Mosque
  • Canal Bridge
  • Al Wasl Road
  • Al Urouba Street
  • Meydan Street
  • Saih Al Salam

Elite Men's Race

Rules

  • The competition is open for online submissions only (the Submissions), through the website www.hipa.ae.
  • Submissions will be accepted from 1:30 pm on 18th January 2025 until midnight on 26th January 2026 (UAE Local Time – GMT +4). No submissions made after the closing time will be accepted.
  • Participants must be individuals aged 18 years and over at the time of their submission.
  • You can submit up to 3 photographs for this competition.
  • Each participant must share the submitted photos on their Instagram account.
  • All submitted photos must be taken during the period of the competition and from the Al Salam Championship only. Old photos will not be accepted.
  • Submitted photos must have an original file in RAW or JPEG format, with high quality and resolution, of a minimum 5 MB in size. The minimum length of the longest edge must be no less than 2000 pixels, and the resolution must be no less than 300 dpi to be suitable for publication.
  • The submitted photo must not contain any tag(s), signature(s), initial(s), frame, border(s), logo(s), or any other references and/or marks added by the participant.
  • Basic technical editing of the photo is acceptable, provided that such editing does not affect the authenticity and/or genuineness of the photo.
  • HIPA and the Al Salam Championship Service reserve the right to assess and discard from the competition any submitted photo deemed contrary to the foregoing.
  • Photos that portray or otherwise include inappropriate and/or offensive content, including nudity, violence, and/or any other content deemed to be contrary to UAE religious, cultural, and/or public moral traditions and practices will be disqualified.
  • The race will start from His Highness the Ruler's Court and head towards Saih Al Salam, passing through Dubai's most prominent tourist landmarks.
  • There will be no photographers’ briefing, permits, or car stickers for this race.
  • Photographers must choose one scenic spot along the race route, which will pass through the following areas: Ali Bin Abi Talib Street, Al Fahidi Street, Al Ghubaiba Street, Grand Souk - Bur Dubai, Al Khaleej Street, Dubai Dry Docks, Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2), Dubai Museum, Etihad Museum, Jumeirah Mosque, Canal Bridge, Al Wasl Road, Al Urouba Street, Meydan Street, Saih Al Salam
  • Photographers can also follow the race map and route through the Al Salam Championship social media pages.
  • Photographers must be positioned at the listed locations before the race begins at 12:45 pm, as Dubai Police will secure traffic and the race route. Only vehicles from the Organizing Committee or authorized ones will be allowed to follow the race.
  • Photography is permitted only within Dubai and the listed areas above.
  • Photography is allowed only from the sides of the road. Entering the race route or approaching the cyclists for photos are strictly prohibited to ensure everyone’s safety.
  • Drone use is permitted in the race according to the standards of the General Civil Aviation Authority. Flying is permitted only in designated green zones, which can be viewed through the DMS application.
  • Drone use is strictly prohibited in the vicinity of the Ruler of Dubai's Court.
  • All participants must adhere to the instructions of Dubai Police and the Supreme Organizing Committee of the race.
